The Council - DAO Governance
Campfire will take a route of progressive decentralization leading up to complete control of the protocol/project by the community. The main goal is to ensure a fair token distribution to avoid whales accumulating high amounts of governance tokens. With the implementation of vesCAMPFIRE (a vested version of $CAMPFIRE), we aim to make of it the core of Campfire governance, until that point, $CAMPFIRE will serve as the gateaway to The Council.
We see a pathway to something groundbreaking that blends DeFi, Metaverse, community, NFTs, and gaming. We will take steps towards it each release, but the majestic campfire won’t be built in a day.

Campfire Improvement Proposals (CIPs)

CIPs, are proposals that are put forth to improve the Campfire protocol. All vesCAMPFIRE holders will have the ability to vote on CIPs. When making a proposal we will include as much information as possible and give voters a list of pros and cons; but we still encourage everyone to take part in governance discussions on our social platforms.

Council Camps

We want to knock down barriers, increase fairness, and unlock growth in a way no centralized organization can replicate.
To do this, it should be simple: The most engaged and helpful people should be able to give to the Campfire no matter their ‘category’ — and the Campfire should give back to them.
  • You don’t need to be early (though sure joining early is better than late…)
  • You don’t need to be an insider friend of the founders
  • You don’t need to be an investor with whale bags (though fairness for all means fair for small fish and whales…)
If you want to contribute you can rise up the ranks of your Camp. Rise up far enough, and you'll end up on the team.

What are Camps?

Council Camps are the governance divisions (or teams) that develop, manage and execute on the Campfire Protocol roadmap. Each Camp is flavored by a particular temperamental quality of the different personality types. These qualities will bring together members of the Campfire community that like, enjoy, and resonate with similar types of work. In this way, the Camp model is built around the types of people in our community who have an organic affinity for each other with respect to the work and the vibe that they enjoy.
The Camp model was introduced with 5 separate Camps to begin and will eventually see more Camps added as the Campfire Protocol community continues to grow. The 5 Founding Camps are:
  1. 1.
Camp of Chaos (trolling, social media, engagement, shilling)
  2. 2.
Camp of Mystery (art, memes, video, poetry, designs, creative)
  3. 3.
Camp of Logic (product talk, data driven, technical analysis, policies)
  4. 4.
Camp of Structure (building systems, automation, smart contracts)
  5. 5.
Camp of Order (organization, managing, events, communication, moderation)

How are Camp teams compensated?

Each camp is allocated $CAMPFIRE tokens from the treasury pool monthly. These are then distributed to the Masters, Initiates, and Disciples in accordance with their contribution to the Camp. Thus, Camps are funded by the Campfire treasury pool so that they may fulfill their responsibilities to execute future Campfire roadmap.
